James C. Katzaroff

James C. Katzaroff, SMI Group Senior Advisor and Managing Director of SMI Capital Markets, is a serial entrepreneur with substantial experience as a financial consultant.  He has worked with SMI Group's chairman and other SMI Group senior professionals for over 20 years in a broad range of businesses and transactions.


Mr. Katzaroff has served as chairman, chief executive officer, chief financial officer, a member of the board of directors and an advisor for a range of public and private companies, particularly in technology, medical devices, fitness, sports medicine and mining.  He is highly regarded for his expertise in developing and implementing corporate strategy and structures.


Mr Katzaroff's career as a serial entrepreneur began when he started his first company importing minerals and pewter from Brazil.  He then worked as a financial consultant for Wall Street firms Bateman Eichler, Smith Barney and EF Hutton, as well as public and private companies.  From 1998-2003, Mr. Katzaroff held senior positions including Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President of Finance and Corporate Secretary at Telemac Corporation, a pioneer in service control for the wireless industry.  He then co-founded companies in the fitness, health care and technology sectors.  In 2006, Mr. Katzaroff founded Vivos Corporation.  He merged Vivos with a public corporation and served as chairman and CEO of the public company until he joined SMI Group in 2017.  Mr. Katzaroff also serves as a senior advisor to private companies and is a director of NanoMobile Healthcare.


Mr. Katzaroff has served on the boards of non-profit organizations, including as vice-chairman of the Fighting Children's Cancer Foundation, and a director of Life Sciences Washington and the Santa Barbara Boys and Girls Club.


Mr. Katzaroff received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in Business Economics and completed advanced management courses at the University of Washington.  He holds Series 22 (partnerships/direct participation programs), 63 (state law), and 82 (private placements) U.S. securities licenses.  Mr. Katzaroff is a U.S. citizen.
